Career Orientation
Career guidance is a counseling process that aims to help persons discover themselves, so they can decide on the suitable career or studies for them based on their inclinations, talents, and personality.Â
Career guidance is provided by career counselors. By asking targeted questions and using tests and psychometric tools, the counselor helps the person to realize his abilities, skills, interests, and values, to make decisions about studies and professions, and to plan their career.Â
The counselor can also provide information about schools, university departments, trainings, and professions. They can also inform about educational and work opportunities or help in building of the resume and cover letter, and making jobs applications.Â
If you are confused about which professional direction to follow, what studies to choose after school, or you seek information, the counselor can help you make a right decision based on your inclinations and interests. You can find career guidance counselors who provide their services for free, in NGOs and universities’ career offices. There are also private companies. Â
