Secondary education studies in Greece include Middle School (Gymnasium) and High School (Lyceum) studies. High school studies are compulsory. There are different types of schools besides the General Gymnasium and General Lyceum that a student can choose according to their interests and needs.Â

Art schools (Gymnasium & Lyceum) are public secondary general education schools with an expanded curriculum emphasizing in Fine Arts. They provide the opportunity for students to cultivate their artistic skills and to deeply educate themselves towards the direction they wish to follow: Theater – Cinema, Dance (Classical and Contemporary) and Visual – Fine Arts.
